About David

David provides strategic patent prosecution and intellectual property (IP) portfolio development counseling to clients in the life sciences, including emerging and established biotechnology companies. He has experience building and managing global patent portfolios, handling complex technologies and IP landscapes, and performing IP due diligence and freedom-to-operate analyses. He works with a range of biotechnologies, including large-molecule therapeutics, gene editing, immunoconjugates and oncolytic viruses.

Before joining Cooley, David worked as a patent agent at another multinational law firm. His doctoral research focused on the role of the X-inactive specific transcript (Xist) long noncoding RNA in epigenetic silencing of the X chromosome.
