Chen Chen

Chen represents public and private life sciences companies in complex licensing, collaboration and strategic partnering transactions. She advises clients on research and development collaborations, license and option agreements, venture-backed NewCo transactions, co-development and co-commercialization arrangements, profit-sharing structures and territory-specific transactions. Drawing on her scientific background, Chen advises clients across therapeutic modalities and technologies, bringing an understanding of the underlying science to transactions involving complex intellectual property. She also has significant experience in cross-border transactions involving companies, investors and technologies in the US and Asia.

• Represented Merus on its research collaboration with Biohaven to develop novel bispecific antibody-drug conjugates
• Represented Capstan Therapeutics on its acquisition by AbbVie for up to $2.1 billion
• Represented Avenzo Therapeutics on its exclusive license with Duality Biotherapeutics for global rights (excluding Greater China) to DB-1418, an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)/human epidermal growth factor receptor 3 (HER3) bispecific antibody-drug conjugate
• Represented Kura Oncology on its global strategic collaboration with Kyowa Kirin to develop and commercialize ziftomenib
• Represented Radionetics Oncology on its strategic collaboration with Eli Lilly to develop novel radiopharmaceuticals, including an option for Eli Lilly to acquire Radionetics Oncology
• Represented Tentarix Biotherapeutics on its collaboration with AbbVie to develop conditionally active, multispecific biologics, including an option for AbbVie to acquire the applicable programs
• Represented Belenos Biosciences (NewCo) on its transaction with KeyMed Biosciences for exclusive global rights (excluding Greater China) to two bispecific antibodies
• Represented SystImmune on its global collaboration with Bristol Myers Squibb to develop and commercialize BL-B01D1, an EGFR/HER3 bispecific antibody-drug conjugate
• Represented MediLink Therapeutics on its strategic collaboration with BioNTech for a HER3-directed antibody-drug conjugate
