About Brad

Working at the intersection of law and tech, Brad leads Cooley’s legal engineering initiatives, collaborating with practice groups, data teams and product managers to identify, structure and transform the firm’s knowledge into artificial intelligence-ready digital assets. He drives the design, development and implementation of automation solutions that optimize legal processes, enhance service delivery and create competitive advantages for Cooley’s legal practices, including document generation, workflow orchestration and knowledge management.

Brad also develops and maintains standards and guidelines for legal engineering activities, ensuring compliance with security, confidentiality and data privacy regulations while meeting industry-leading quality standards.

Previously at Cooley, Brad served as associate director of practice innovation services, working with legal professionals, business analysts and application developers to enhance the gathering and processing of actionable knowledge and data-centric intelligence. His background includes co-founding a legal tech startup focused on connecting startups with lawyers and serving as director of legal affairs at StartX, a startup company accelerator based out of Stanford University. Before that, he practiced for several years in the Toronto office of a Canadian law firm in its corporate/technology transactions group.
