About Asal

Before joining Cooley, Asal was an associate at a US-based international law firm in New York.

Prior to her legal career, Asal was the co-founder and chef of an acclaimed food truck in Seattle for more than five years. Her experience as a business owner inspired her passion for advising other founders, entrepreneurs, investors and companies at all stages of the business life cycle.

While at Penn Law (now Penn Carey Law), Asal participated in the Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic, providing pro bono transactional legal services to underrepresented founders and social impact startups. She was awarded a 2L Diversity Fellowship from a global law firm and earned the Wharton Certificate in Management. Additionally, her essay, “Reviewing Tribes’ Traditional Claims to Plants in National Parks,” was published in The Regulatory Review as a winner of its administrative law essay competition in 2019.
