Cooley Boosts Boston Labor and Employment Practice

May 22, 2025

Boston – May 22, 2025 – Lyndsey Kruzer joins Cooley’s Boston office as a partner in the firm’s labor and employment practice and global litigation department. Kruzer advises life sciences and tech companies, along with private equity and venture capital firms, across the full spectrum of employment matters, including employment counseling, litigation and transactional issues.

“Lyndsey’s experience advising tech, life sciences and other innovative companies complements our elite labor and employment practice,” said Ian Shapiro, chair of Cooley’s global litigation department. “She is one of the best next-generation employment partners in Boston, and we are excited to have her join our dynamic litigation practice there.”

Kruzer advises and defends clients facing discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, employee mobility, whistleblower, noncompetition restriction, Employment Retirement Income Security Act and contract employment claims. She also conducts internal investigations for clients, drafts employment agreements, handbooks and policies, and advises on corporate transactions and strategic investments.

“Massachusetts has a complex employment law landscape, and Lyndsey's experience in Boston, coupled with her understanding of Cooley’s client base, will be particularly advantageous for companies navigating challenging employment issues,” said Wendy Brenner, partner and chair of Cooley’s labor and employment practice group. “We are delighted to welcome her to the firm.”

Cooley’s labor and employment practice serves as a go-to resource for companies contending with complex employment counseling, investigation and litigation matters in the US and globally. Part of the firm’s expansive CooleyREG offering, the group provides comprehensive and timely guidance for clients navigating the increasingly complex regulatory landscape.

“Cooley’s multinational and vibrant platform provides an exceptional opportunity to expand my practice across a wide range of industries,” said Kruzer. “Cooley’s cross-functional approach to client service and my skilled colleagues make this the perfect fit for my next chapter.”

Kruzer is the most recent next-generation lawyer to join Cooley’s elite litigation practice, as the firm continues its multiyear expansion of its litigation department globally. Since the beginning of 2024, Cooley has welcomed new lateral partners into the department – including James Kim (financial services and enforcement), Kristen Mathews (cyber/data/privacy) and Daniel Shamah (business restructuring) in New York; Bryony Hurst (commercial litigation) and Mark Simpson (antitrust and competition) in London; William Pao (securities litigation and enforcement) and Michael Neumeister (bankruptcy and restructuring) in Los Angeles; John Bostic (white collar defense and investigations) in Palo Alto; and Elliot Kaye (product compliance and product litigation) and Susanne Grooms (congressional investigations) in Washington, DC.
