Crain’s 2023 Notable Litigators and Trial Attorneys

Cooley partner Matthew Kutcher was recognized on Crain’s Chicago Business 2023 list of Notable Litigators & Trial Attorneys. Kutcher was highlighted for representing the California Institute of Technology in its defense against antitrust claims brought against several universities relating to financial aid. He also was noted for his defense of DeVry University, being among the lawyers leading the university’s claims against the Department of Education relating to the department’s attempt to recoup student loan discharges brought by thousands of former students.

Kutcher’s pro bono litigation work with the East St. Louis branch of the NAACP regarding state legislative redistricting also was recognized.
