WILEF Awards Cooley With 11th US Gold Standard Certification

July 27, 2022

Palo Alto – July 27, 2022 – For the 11th consecutive year, the Women in Law Empowerment Forum has certified Cooley as a US Gold Standard law firm. The Gold Standard is WILEF’s highest level of recognition for commitment to the advancement of women in the legal industry.

WILEF awards Gold Standard Certification to firms that meet objective criteria concerning the number of women among equity partners, in firm leadership positions and in the ranks of their most highly compensated partners. For 2022 certification, firms in the US needed to satisfy the mandatory criteria that 25% of equity partners or 40% of the lawyers becoming equity partners during the past 12 months were women, and that 10% of women equity partners were women of color or 4% of women equity partners were LGBTQ+, in addition to meeting at least two of four other criteria.

Cooley is dedicated to maintaining a workplace that values and celebrates differences. This commitment includes active and creative partnerships with clients and in local and national law organizations that support people from underrepresented backgrounds, diversity pipeline projects, law school diversity programs and community outreach. The firm is widely recognized for its diversity, equity and inclusion efforts by leading industry organizations and publications, including earning a six-time perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index, being named to Seramount’s (formerly Working Mother) Best Law Firms for Women list for 10 straight years and achieving Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Rule Certification Plus status.
