Palo Alto – June 25, 2021 – Seramount, Working Mother Magazine’s parent company, has named Cooley to its Best Law Firms for Women list for the 10th year in a row, which grants the firm hall of fame status on the elite list.
This annual list showcases law firms’ efforts and successes in recruiting, retaining, promoting and developing women lawyers. This year, law firms answered more than 300 questions about lawyer demographics at different levels, schedule flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women. In light of COVID-19, the survey also included questions on the success of working from home for lawyers.
Cooley is committed to fostering a unique and empowering culture dedicated to advancing women employees. Its Women’s Initiative allows women partners and associates to help set the tone for the working environment for women lawyers. The group provides tools necessary to achieve professional success and personal fulfillment through counseling, professional development and networking. Cooley offers numerous benefits and programs to support women and their advancement within the firm. This focus on supporting and advancing women and others from underrepresented groups at the firm has led to an increase of women representation across the partnership and other managerial roles. Cooley’s 2021 partner class was composed of 56% women and 25% lawyers from underrepresented backgrounds.
