September 24, 2021

Palo Alto – September 24, 2021 – Cooley has been named Corporate Firm of the Year at the ninth annual LMG Life Sciences Americas Awards.

“It’s been a truly remarkable year as we continue to help our clients with a broad range of ‘bet-the-company’ transactions,” said Kay Chandler, chair of Cooley’s global life sciences industry practice. “We’re honored to receive this external validation for our market-leading practice,” added Christian Plaza, practice vice chair.

LMG produces one of the most respected awards programs for life sciences practitioners and firms in the US, Canada and Europe. Awardees are determined through a rigorous research process that aims to survey excellent legal service over a 12-month period. Covered in the award categories are four key practice areas: financial & corporate, regulatory, intellectual property, and non-IP litigation & enforcement.

The firm had also been shortlisted for Licensing & Collaboration Firm of the Year, M&A Firm of the Year, Regulatory Firm to Watch and Patent Strategy Firm of the Year awards, in addition to several individual categories.

Cooley is a top law firm for emerging and mature life sciences companies, and counsel to almost 1,800 public and private life sciences company clients worldwide, including 50% of the Nasdaq Biotechnology Index. The firm counsels on all aspects of life sciences technologies for established public companies and growing startups. Cooley has been the #1 VC law firm for biotech and pharma venture financings for the last decade and is the #1 firm for issuer-side life sciences IPOs – a title held since 2000. Chandler and Plaza recently spoke with The Recorder about Cooley’s long-established leadership in the sector.
