goPuff Hits $3.9 Billion Valuation With Latest Funding Round

October 12, 2020

Los Angeles – October 12, 2020 – Cooley advised goPuff, the go-to platform for consumers’ everyday needs, on its $380 million round of funding, which values the Philadelphia-based company at $3.9 billion. The round was led by Accel and D1 Capital Partners and also included participation from Luxor Capital and SoftBank Vision Fund. Cooley partners Tom Hopkins and Matt Hallinan led the team advising goPuff on the financing.

The new capital will further accelerate goPuff’s geographic expansion, product category offerings and talent investment. With a vertically integrated model, goPuff is able to quickly add new products, like those in its newest cooking, baking and grocery categories, ensuring the company is able to meet customers' every need. The company will also bring on three new key executives to its leadership team, including its first chief customer officer, first chief business officer and first vice president of engineering.

“From day one, we have always been customer-first and continue to be excited about the impact we’re making on people’s lives by changing the way they get the products that they want and need,” said Rafael Ilishayev, co-founder & co-CEO of goPuff, in a news release.

“We’ve come a long way, but we’re also just getting started. This investment accelerates our ability to achieve our vision of becoming the world's go-to solution for immediate everyday needs,” added Yakir Gola, goPuff co-founder & co-CEO.

Founded in 2013, Philadelphia-headquartered goPuff operates more than 200 micro-fulfillment centers servicing 500+ US cities – the company tripled the number of cities it serves in the last 18 months alone. The service is open 24/7 in many markets and completes deliveries in 30 minutes or less to bring customers what they need, when they need it most.
