CSL Secures Investment From ECI Partners

August 3, 2020

London – August 3, 2020 – Cooley advised the management team of CSL, an international critical communications service provider, on its significant investment from private equity firm ECI Partners. Cooley partner Stephen Rosen led the team advising CSL on the transaction.

CSL is a market leader in providing machine-to-machine and internet of things connectivity solutions in the fire, security and telehealth sectors. It has invested significantly in its core fire and security customer base over the last 24 years. The investment from ECI Partners will support CSL to further enhance its customer offerings, drive product innovation and ensure high-quality service levels it’s known for as the company expands.

“The Cooley team successfully guided us through the process, helping us focus on key issues and providing timely and commercially practical advice – we couldn’t have managed this without them,” Ed Heale, CEO of CSL, said. “Notably, the Cooley team joined up seamlessly with the CSL team and our other advisers, making for a smooth and effective transaction that achieved our end goals. We very much value Cooley’s collaborative approach, commitment and knowledge of similar deals and would definitely recommend the team to others looking for the best legal provision to hand.”

Cooley previously advised the CSL team on its 2016 backing by ICONIQ Capital, Norland Capital and RIT Capital Partners.

CSL services more than one million M2M and IoT devices and monitors four billion events through its platforms each month across the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain and Ireland.
