Value of Foreign Takeovers Surges to £18.4 Billion in Second Quarter
"Big ticket takeovers of UK companies by foreign rivals doubled the value of inward mergers and acquisitions in the three months to June, official figures reveal. The amount of money spent on foreign takeovers jumped from £7.6 billion in the first three months of the year to £18.4 billion, according to the Office for National Statistics. The figure compares with £7.1 billion for the second quarter of 2018."
