ChrysCapital Closes Eighth Fund at $850 Million

Shanghai – January 16, 2019 – Cooley advised ChrysCapital on the closing of its eighth fund at $850 million, which brought the India-focused private equity firm’s total assets under management to $4 billion. Partner Jordan Silber led the Cooley team advising ChrysCapital.

“Given the strong pace of deployment of over $200 million per year and an active pipeline, ChrysCapital decided to embark on raising an eighth fund in August 2018,” Gaurav Ahuja, ChrysCapital managing director, said in a statement. “The fund was significantly over-subscribed past its hard cap of $850 million by October.”

ChrysCapital has made more than 80 investments and has returned more than $5 billion to investors through 65+ exits. ChrysCapital’s marquee investors include institutions with a long-term horizon such as sovereign wealth funds, endowments, pension funds and fund of funds.

Cooley has advised ChrysCapital on all of its fund formations since the firm's founding in 1999.
