Fortune Recognizes Cooley as #1 Law Firm for Women

October 31, 2018

Palo Alto – October 31, 2018 – Fortune magazine has again named Cooley a Best Workplace for Women. Cooley has been the top law firm on the list for four consecutive years.

“We’re honored to be named to this elite list for the fourth year in a row and, at the same time, recognize there is a long way to go toward gender equality in our profession,” said Kay Chandler, Cooley partner and co-chair of the firm’s Women’s Initiative alongside partner Shira Nadich Levin. “We hope to continue to advance and increase our strides toward empowering women lawyers and staff at the firm.”

Fortune partners with Great Place to Work, a research and consulting firm, to select the Best Workplaces for Women list. Great Place to Work analyzed women and men’s responses to more than 60 metrics measuring the extent to which their organizations create a great place to work for all. Rankings reward companies in which women have equally great experiences as their colleagues and that have strong representation of women in the workforce and leadership positions.

Fortune consistently recognizes Cooley as a great place to work, having named the firm to its 100 Best Companies to Work For list six times in a row. In addition, Fortune has named Cooley to its best workplace lists for diversity, millennials, parents, flexibility, giving back and consulting and professional services.

Other national and regional publications also consistently recognize Cooley as a great place to work, including Working Mother, Crain’s New York Business, the San Diego Business Journal and the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. In addition, the Women in Law Empowerment Forum has certified Cooley as a Gold Standard law firm for seven consecutive years.
