The American Lawyer Shortlists Cooley for Best Law Firm of the Year Award

Named finalist for three additional awards by the publication

Palo Alto – September 21, 2018 – Cooley has been shortlisted for The American Lawyer’s inaugural Best Law Firm of the Year award as one of only seven firms named to the elite list.

Cooley is also a finalist for California Regional Litigation Department of the Year, and lawyer Bethany Lobo is up for Best Mentor. Additionally, Cooley’s patent infringement defense work on behalf of Varian Medical Systems has been shortlisted for the publication’s Global Legal Awards Litigation/Dispute Resolution of the Year category. The winners will be announced at The American Lawyer Industry Awards gala in New York on December 5.

The American Lawyer’s criteria in selecting the finalists for its preeminent Best Law Firm of the Year award includes demonstrating exceptional client work across a variety of practice areas, innovation in the business of law, diversity initiatives and client service.

Top-tier publications and organizations frequently honor Cooley and its lawyers for transcending legal standards. In June, a judging panel named Cooley the Transatlantic Capital Markets Team of the Year at the Transatlantic Legal Awards, hosted jointly by Legal Week, The American Lawyer and Corporate Counsel. Cooley’s exceptional litigation work was also given honorable mention in The American Lawyer’s Litigation Department of the Year contest this year.
