Jonie Kondracki Named 2018 Diversity Fellow

March 16, 2018

San Francisco – March 16, 2018 – Capital markets partner Jonie Ing Kondracki is Cooley’s 2018 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity fellow. In what is one of the most comprehensive legal talent development programs in the country, Kondracki will hone leadership skills for the mentorship and advancement of minority attorneys.

“Year over year, our commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive culture is a priority,” said Joe Conroy, Cooley’s chief executive officer. “Jonie’s tenacity and team spirit make her a perfect match for this fellowship.”

This is the fifth year Cooley has nominated a fellow for LCLD’s program. Previous Cooley fellows include DeAnna Allen, who is the current co-chair of Cooley’s diversity committee, plus Reuben Chen, Joseph Drayton and Jessica Valenzuela Santamaria.

Founded in 2009, LCLD is a national organization of 285 members comprised of the general counsel and managing partners of leading corporations and law firms in the country who are committed to making the legal profession truly diverse. The LCLD Fellows program launched in 2011 and has since trained more than 1,200 lawyers.

Cooley has joined multiple initiatives to promote diversity in commonly gender-imbalanced professions. In June, the firm partnered with several organizations to support the Women Forward in Technology Scholarship program to improve diversity in the tech-startup community. Cooley also helped launch the US chapter of Diversity VC, a nonprofit organization headquartered in London, to promote greater diversity in venture capital.

Cooley has been widely recognized for its diversity efforts by leading industry organizations and publications, including being named to Fortune’s lists of best workplaces for diversity, women, flexibility and parents, as well as Working Mother/Flex-Time Lawyers’ list of the best law firms for women. Cooley has also earned Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum for six consecutive years, as well as a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index.
