Cooley – A Fortune Best Workplace for Parents

Palo Alto – November 28, 2017 – For the second year in a row, Fortune has named Cooley to its list of 50 Best Workplaces for Parents. Cooley is again the #1 law firm on the list and is ranked #7 overall in the United States.

The Fortune 50 Best Workplaces for Parents list is based on feedback from 443,258 employees at Great Place to Work-certified companies. Mothers, fathers and non-parent colleagues answered more than 50 survey questions about their day-to-day workplace experience. The rankings are driven by parents’ overall feedback, based on analysis of how parent-experiences compared to that of their colleagues, and assessing the quality of parental leave, adoption, flexible schedule, childcare and dependent health care benefits. 

Earlier this year, Cooley moved up to #25 on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list – again the highest ranking law firm. Fortune also named Cooley to its Best Workplace lists for Women, Giving Back, Flexibility and Consulting and Professional Services.

Cooley offers enhanced parental leave benefits, including an increased number of weeks of paid leave for primary and secondary caregivers and providing an option for those returning from primary parental leave to work a reduced schedule without prior approval for a period of up to six months. Additionally, Cooley’s Women’s Initiative runs a liaison program for men and women taking a leave of absence exceeding four weeks, providing a person of support leading up to and during the leave who will also help to re-acclimate the lawyer following his or her return to work.
