Collaborative Fund Invests in Quora

April 25, 2017

Palo Alto – April 25, 2017 – Cooley advised Collaborative Fund on co-leading Quora’s recent $85 million financing round – the firm’s largest investment to date.

“Quora is a substantially larger and later-stage investment than we typically make,” said Craig Shapiro, Collaborative Fund’s founder and managing partner, in a news release. “And while this investment was not made out of our seed-stage fund, it highlights Collaborative Fund’s long-term vision to back great companies that are moving the world forward, even in asset classes other than early-stage VC.”

Quora is a question-and-answer platform and its mission is to share and grow the world’s knowledge. The Palo Alto-based company attracts approximately 190 million monthly users. It was founded in 2009 by Adam D’Angelo & Charlie Cheever.

In 2016, Cooley advised Collaborative Fund on the formation of Collab + Sesame – a $10 million child development-focused venture fund launched in collaboration with Sesame Ventures, the VC arm of Sesame Workshop, the creators of Sesame Street.
