xAd Raises $43 Million Series E + Buys WeatherBug

San Francisco – November 29, 2016 – Cooley advised predictive analytics company xAd on its $42.5 million Series E round and simultaneous acquisition of WeatherBug.

xAd is a global leader in location intelligence that drives offline retail sales. Its Series E financing round was led by Eminence Capital and joined by W Capital, IVP and Emergence Capital. xAd’s acquisition of WeatherBug – a provider of extended local and national weather forecasts, news, temperature, live radar, lightning, hurricane alerts and more – will bring together the scale of xAd’s global, real-world intelligence and contextual database with WeatherBug’s daily user reach and engagement and a data infrastructure built from one of the largest IoT networks, across ten thousand private weather stations.

The Cooley team advising xAd on its financing included Craig Jacoby, Alexis Weiss and Mike Perez. The team advising on the WeatherBug acquisition included Jamie Leigh, Ben Maida, Charles Haley, Joshua Mates, Mike Faber, Jonathan Rivinus and Thomas Welk.
