September 14, 2016

London – September 14, 2016 – Joe Conroy, Cooley partner and chief executive officer, was honored by The American Lawyer as the Transatlantic Law Firm Leader for 2016 at its second annual Transatlantic Legal Awards, held in London on June 7.

Conroy's vision, planning and leadership led Cooley to deliver what was heralded as the largest international office opening in London legal market history. Cooley's UK office debuted in January of last year with 20 partners and more than 55 lawyers and other professionals.

Over the past 18 months, Cooley has added more than 25 lawyers in London across core practice groups including private equity, corporate and finance, emerging companies, digital media, life sciences, IP and litigation. The firm has demonstrated its leadership in tech and life sciences and enhanced its distinctive global brand, all while delivering record financial results.

Joe Conroy is featured in the September 2016 edition of The American Lawyer. The article celebrates Cooley’s London launch, stating that “the office has developed quickly, adding a number of significant lateral hires, and already ranks as one of the leading tech-focused practices in the city.”
