San Diego – September 30, 2026 – The Daily Journal recognized Cooley partner Michael Attanasio among its Top 100 Lawyers, an annual list celebrating leading lawyers in California whose work has made a significant impact on the legal profession and their clients.

In its profile, the publication highlighted Attanasio’s work as lead counsel for Jenner & Block in its challenge to an executive order that restricted the firm’s attorneys’ security clearances, access to federal buildings and work with federal contractors. Attanasio secured a temporary restraining order in March 2025, followed by a permanent injunction and summary judgment in April 2025.

The Daily Journal also noted that Attanasio was the only California attorney among counsel for the four law firms challenging similar orders to argue in district court on behalf of one of the targeted firms. Reflecting on his approach to high-profile litigation, Attanasio said, “Drown out the noise and do what’s best for the client.”
