DeAnna Allen Selected as 2015 LCLD Diversity Fellow
Washington, DC – February 12, 2015 – Litigation partner DeAnna Allen has been selected as Cooley's 2015 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow. As a fellow, Allen will participate in a landmark year-long program created by the LCLD to identify, train and advance the next generation of diverse leaders in the legal profession.
"Increasing diversity both at Cooley and across the legal profession is a priority for us, so it is an honor to participate in the LCLD fellows program for the third year," said Joe Conroy, Cooley CEO. "As chair of our diversity committee, DeAnna possesses the necessary drive and skills to succeed in moving the needle on diversity issues. She is an exceptional litigator and leader and an exemplary candidate for this fellowship."
Allen, who is based in Cooley's DC office, has a practice that encompasses various aspects of intellectual property, including patent litigation, trademark litigation, and computer technology. She serves as co-chair of the Programs Subcommittee to the American Bar Association Section of Litigation IP Committee, and is an Executive Board member and Diversity Committee liaison of the National Association of Women Lawyers.
Cooley partners Joseph Drayton and Jessica Valenzuela Santamaria were previously selected as LCLD Fellows.
Founded in 2009, LCLD is a growing organization of more than 220 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to creating a truly diverse legal profession. The LCLD Fellows program, which has trained more than 600 mid-career attorneys since 2011, is one of LCLD's most important initiatives.
