Jessica Valenzuela Santamaria to be Honored at the YWCA Silicon Valley Tribute to Women Awards

March 11, 2014

Palo Alto, Calif. – March 11, 2014 – Cooley LLP announced today that Jessica Valenzuela Santamaria, a securities and commercial litigation partner of the firm, will be recognized at the 30th Annual YWCA Tribute to Women awards on May 12, 2014. The event honors 38 outstanding executive women for their achievements and recognizes the companies for which they work.

The YWCA Silicon Valley's mission is to empower women, children and families, and eliminate racism, hatred and prejudice. The awards program is one of the primary fundraisers for the YWCA Silicon Valley, which provides critical services to more than 18,000 residents of Santa Clara County each year, including providing sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking awareness. In addition, YWCA provides counseling, child care and an after school program for girls known as TechGYRLS.

"Jessica is an ideal role model for women attorneys at Cooley, and the qualities that make her such an important asset to our Women's Initiative are consistent with those that have gained her this recognition from YWCA," said Shira Nadich Levin, chair of Cooley's Women's Initiative. "She is truly deserving of this award."

Recently, Jessica was selected as a member of the 2014 class of fellows for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, a landmark program created to identify, train and advance the next generation of diverse leaders in the legal profession.
