Cooley Named a "Best Law Firm for Women" by Working Mother
New York – August 6, 2013 – Cooley LLP announced today that it has been recognized as one of the 2013 Working Mother & Flex-Time Lawyers "50 Best Law Firms for Women." This is the second consecutive year that Cooley has been recognized for its flexibility and professional development programs designed to retain women and advance them into law firm leadership roles.
"We are thrilled to have been named again as a ‘Best Law Firm for Women' by Working Mother & Flex-Time Lawyers," said Shira Nadich Levin, a real estate partner in Cooley's New York office and chair of the firm's Women's Initiative. "This recognition emphasizes Cooley's core values, and demonstrates our commitment to elevating and supporting our women attorneys."
Cooley's Women's Initiative is built on the foundation of core career development on which women attorneys throughout the firm can establish and refine the skills needed to grow and flourish professionally. As part of the program, women partners serve as career development counselors to women associates for the purpose of providing mentorship and professional guidance. As part of its broad commitment to the professional development of its women attorneys, Cooley hosts, sponsors and participates in various women-focused leadership conferences and events, including the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF). Recently, Cooley received, also for the second consecutive year, the Gold Standard Certification distinction from WILEF for its achievements in the promotion and success of women attorneys. Only 42 firms from across the United States were so recognized by WILEF.
