Cooley Honored with "Distressed M&A Deal of the Year" Award

Palo Alto, Calif. – March 13, 2013 – Cooley LLP announced today that it received the "Distressed M&A Deal of the Year" award (deals between $25 million and $100 million) at the 7th Annual M&A Advisor Turnaround Awards. Cooley was selected for its representation of Entropic Communications in its acquisition of a set top box business and diverse international patent portfolio from Trident Microsystems.
 
The Cooley team advising Entropic was led by M&A partner and practice chair, Barbara Borden, and Bankruptcy & Restructuring partner Cathy Hershcopf, and included associates Wade Andrews, Michael Klein, Scott Tanner and Alex Velinsky. Additional expertise was provided by partner Robin J. Lee, senior counsel Lois Voelz, special counsel Eric Kauffman and associate Nadya Bodansky.
