Cooley Announces 2014 Diversity Fellowship Application Process
Palo Alto, Calif. – December 2, 2013 – Cooley LLP announced today that it is accepting applications for its 2014 Diversity Fellowship program. First-year law students who demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity in their communities are encouraged to apply.
Award recipients will receive a paid Summer Associate position and an award of up to $30,000 to assist with law school tuition and other expenses. Individuals selected will be announced in spring 2014, with the Summer Associate positions to start following the successful completion of the recipients' 1L year.
"We are thrilled to welcome applicants to this fellowship once again," said Cooley partner Whitty Somvichian, head of the firm's Diversity Committee. "Providing support to law students through this fellowship continues to be a key part of Cooley's overall diversity initiative."
Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an ABA-accredited law school, with an anticipated graduation date of 2016 at the time of application, and must not have received a paid diversity award with another law firm between January 1, 2014, and August 31, 2014. They must be able to participate in and complete Cooley's 2014 summer associate program.
