Workshop: Financially Distressed De-SPAC Companies
The life cycle of a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) is continually evolving and, in recent history, some cycles have included bankruptcy proceedings. Cullen Speckhart – partner in charge of Cooley’s office in Washington, DC – was among the speakers on this panel, which went through what a SPAC is and what it means to “deSPAC.” The panelists also examined post-deSPAC companies against the backdrop of the current, sometimes turbulent economy, as well as discussed when bankruptcy is (or isn’t) an option for such companies – and how a bankruptcy case may (or may not) be different for them.
