Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer & Corporate Secretary, Halozyme Therapeutics; Member National Security Committee of Pacific Council on International Policy; GTMO Task Force

A constant source of controversy, the Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility in Cuba continues to make headlines. Join us for an intriguing and thought-provoking inside look at 9/11 justice presented by Harry Leonhardt. Mr. Leonhardt has visited Camp Justice at GTMO and personally observed court proceedings involving Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the architect of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and the other top five 9/11 terrorist detainees. In addition to monitoring the 9/11 court proceedings, he has interviewed lead military prosecutors and defense counsel, Department of Defense officials and architects of the Military Commissions Tribunal under which the GTMO proceedings are conducted. He has also toured the GTMO Naval Base and met with family members of victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Working with fellow members of the National Security Committee and the GTMO Task Force of the Pacific Council on International Policy, Mr. Leonhardt participated in the drafting of a series of recommendations regarding the conduct of the proceedings, which have now been adopted as legislative reforms. Join us for what promises to be a unique presentation.
