Cooley advised retail tech company b8ta on multiple strategic deals, including its partnership with Middle Eastern luxury retailer Chaloub Group to bring b8ta stores worldwide. Cooley partner Kevin Rooney led the team advising b8ta on the transactions. 

Cooley advised Hawha Systems on its investment in the $25 million Series A financing of Overair, a spin-off of Karem Aircraft, an electric takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft developer.

Cooley advised Rapt Therapeutics on its $38.4 million initial public offering of 3,200,000 shares of common stock. Rapt Therapeutics, whose securities now trade on Nasdaq Global Market under the symbol “RAPT,” is clinical-stage immunology-based biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing oral small molecule therapies for patients with significant unmet needs in oncology and inflammatory diseases. Partner Michael Tenta led the Cooley team.

Cooley advised Ireland-based Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc (Nasdaq: JAZZ) on its Rule 144A offering of $575 million of exchangeable senior notes due 2021. Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc is a specialty biopharmaceutical company focused on improving patients' lives by identifying, developing and commercializing differentiated products that address unmet medical needs.

Cooley advised the underwriters on Xenon Pharmaceuticals' initial public offering. Xenon is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company discovering and developing a pipeline of differentiated therapeutics for orphan indications. Xenon has built a core-enabling discovery platform for the discovery of validated drug targets by studying rare human diseases with extreme traits, including diseases caused by mutations in ion channels, known as channelopathies. The company now trades on the Nasdaq Global Market under the symbol "XENE."
