Cooley advised Venrock on the close of its 10th fund at $650 million. After raising approximately $450 million every three years throughout the past decade’s bull market, Venrock raised the $650 million for Venrock 10 to generate greater follow-on reserves in the current market environment.

SolidFire sale to NetApp

December 23, 2015

Cooley is advising SolidFire on its sale to NetApp for $870 million in cash. Subject to customary closing conditions, the transaction is anticipated to close in February of 2016.

"This acquisition will benefit current and future customers looking to gain the benefits of webscale cloud providers for their own data centers," said George Kurian, chief executive officer of NetApp. "SolidFire combines the performance and economics of all-flash storage with a webscale architecture that radically simplifies data center operations and enables rapid deployments of new applications."

SolidFire provides all-flash storage systems built for the next-generation data center where simple scaling, set-and-forget management, assured performance and multi-tenancy and cloud economic models are driving new market growth. NetApp creates software, systems, and services to manage and store data.

SolidFire CEO Dave Wright will lead the SolidFire product line within NetApp's product operations.

StyleHaul Sells to RTL Group for $107 Million

November 7, 2014

Cooley advised StyleHaul on its $107 million sale to RTL Group, valuing the company at $151 million. The sale will give RTL Group a controlling stake in StyleHaul. Additional performance-based incentives could further increase the purchase price. RTL Group will also invest $20 million to fund the company's expansion.

StyleHaul is the largest original video network on YouTube for fashion and beauty and ranks 16th in terms of video views among YouTube partners globally. Based in Los Angeles, StyleHaul investors in addition to RTL Group include Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments and RezVen Partners. RTL Group is a leading European TV and radio conglomerate.
