The SEC announced today it is preparing relief measures that would extend filing deadlines for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. Relief measures would include extensions of filing deadlines (with a new deadline expected to be to November 21, 2012) for any filing due during the period from October 29, 2012 to November 20, 2012. The relief would apply to publicly traded companies and other persons with filing obligations that could not file timely due to Hurricane Sandy. The staff will also consider requests for additional relief on a case-by-case basis.
