The SEC has announced that, at an open meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 22, 2012 – August 22 -- it will take up adoption of the Dodd-Frank specialized disclosure requirements related to conflict minerals and payments to governments made by resource extraction issuers.  (Usually, the SEC gives notice no more than a week in advance, so they must be feeling the heat …. http://www.oxfamamerica.org/press/pressreleases/congress-pressures-secs-schapiro-to-finalize-overdue-oil-transparency-and-conflict-minerals-regulations.)

At the same meeting, the SEC will consider rules to eliminate the prohibition against general solicitation and general advertising in securities offerings conducted pursuant to Rule 506 of Reg D and Rule 144A, as mandated by the JOBS Act.
