SEC adopts enhanced proxy disclosure requirements--correction
By Cydney Posner
Turns out that the sentence in bold on the 12/16/09 post about the effective date is not correct. As indicated in the release, the December 20 fiscal year end date that I heard at the open meeting applies only to a subset of the rules relating to the Summary Comp Table and not to the entire set of amendments. (Apparently some of the bloggers, such as Mark Borges on compensationstandards.com, heard -- or misheard -- the same thing I did. See his blog for December 16@ 2:33. The release indicates that the new rules will be effective February 28, 2010, so the new rules will still apply to the upcoming proxy season. Sorry for the confusion.
