November 20, 2006

By: Cydney Posner

The SEC has posted its latest fee rate advisory, indicating that, as usual, the continuing resolution funding the SEC has been extended through December 8, 2006. As a result, fees paid under Section 6(b) (applicable to the registration of securities) of the Securities Act and Sections 13(e) (applicable to the repurchase of securities) and 14(g) (applicable to proxy solicitations and statements in corporate control transactions) of the Exchange Act will remain at their current rates. Five days after the date of enactment of the SEC's regular fiscal 2007 appropriation, the Section 6(b), Section 13(e) and Section 14(g) fee rate will decrease substantially from the current rate of $107.00 per million to $30.70 per million.
