Cooley partner Kathleen Hartnett was named one of three Attorney of the Year finalists for the New York Legal Awards 2026.

Among her most significant accomplishments this year, Kathleen served as lead counsel in a First Amendment challenge to an executive order targeting Jenner & Block, securing a permanent injunction and a ruling that the order was unconstitutional retaliation.

She also appeared before the Supreme Court of the United States as it heard oral arguments in Little v. Hecox and West Virginia v. B.P.J., which addressed the rights of transgender girls under the Equal Protection Clause and Title IX.

The award ceremony will take place in New York in September.
