Cooley Again Ranks Among Top AI Transactional Firms

Firm’s AI venture capital transactions in Q1 totaled $7.5 billion+ for companies and investors

New York – May 27, 2025 According to PitchBook’s deal database, in the first quarter of 2025, Cooley ranked second overall for venture capital transactions involving artificial intelligence (AI) companies and their investors.* The firm handled more than 100 reported VC deals, totaling approximately $7.5 billion in value.

Among those deals, the firm represented Harvey, an AI platform for legal and professional services, in its $300 million Series D financing at a $3 billion valuation, after previously advising the company on its $100 million Series C financing.

In the M&A space, Cooley ranked third overall for transactions involving AI companies, based on seven reported deals in Q1.* These included representing MongoDB, a database leader powering applications, in its acquisition of Voyage AI, a pioneer in state-of-the-art embedding models that power next-generation AI apps.

Additionally, the firm lead on multiple private equity transactions, including sell-side representations of Machinify, a provider of AI software transforming healthcare payments, in its acquisition by New Mountain Capital, and Casepoint, a leader in data discovery for litigation, investigations and data compliance, in its merger and majority investment from Thoma Bravo.
