Cooley M&A Co-Chair Quoted on Life Sciences Deal Cycle
Jamie Leigh, Cooley partner and co-chair of the firm’s global mergers & acquisitions group, was quoted by Bloomberg Law about the deal cycle of life sciences companies and her outlook on deal activity in 2024.
“Part of the life sciences story is really about acquirers not wanting to sit out an entire deal cycle,” she said, noting that acquirers want “to make sure that they have a leg up in today’s tougher time by rounding out portfolios that were missing certain assets.” Leigh further noted that she does not foresee a “massive cascade of activity” in 2024, but “for private company targets and public company targets, we will continue to see robust deal-making, as well as in the reverse merger space.”
