Cooley Receives Pro Bono Award in San Diego

San Diego – September 22, 2023 – At its annual Justice For All Celebration, the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program (SDVLP) recognized Cooley with the Outstanding Law Firm Award for 2023. In granting the award, SDVLP highlighted the hundreds of hours of pro bono legal services that Cooley attorneys performed on behalf of clients referred by SDVLP’s Microbusiness and Nonprofit Support Program, Tenants’ Rights Program and others.

SDVLP is a private, nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of the most vulnerable members of the community and providing equal access to the justice system for indigent and other disadvantaged people. Active since 1983, SDVLP operates San Diego County’s oldest and most comprehensive pro bono legal services program, through which it has changed the lives of thousands of poor women, children and men throughout San Diego County.

Cooley has maintained a presence in San Diego for more than 30 years and was the first Silicon Valley-based law firm to launch in the city. Most recently, the firm redoubled its commitment to the San Diego community through the launch of its state-of-the-art office in the heart of the city’s life sciences community at The Boardwalk in Torrey Pines.
