Cooley Ranked on The American Lawyer’s A-List

Recognition highlights firm’s commitment to values and culture
August 3, 2023

Palo Alto – August 3, 2023 Cooley earned the #12 ranking on The American Lawyer’s annual A-List, validating the firm’s commitment to the cultural priorities that sit at the heart of the A-List methodology.

Among the factors that vaulted Cooley up the A-List ranks is its pro bono commitment. Notably, in 2022, the firm increased the average number of pro bono hours per lawyer and, in turn, the percentage of lawyers who performed more than 20 hours of such work. In total, more than 118,000 hours were devoted to pro bono matters across the firm in 2022. In recent weeks, Cooley also jumped up more than 25 spots on The American Lawyer’s annual Pro Bono Scorecard.

Other priorities reflected in Cooley’s A-List ranking are the firm’s commitment to the job satisfaction and professional development of its associates, as well as its dedication to increasing racial and gender diversity firmwide.
