USPTO Recognizes Cooley With 2022 Patent Pro Bono Achievement Certificate

Washington, DC – May 1, 2023 – Cooley has earned a 2022 Patent Pro Bono Achievement Certificate from the US Patent and Trademark Office for providing more than 500 hours of patent pro bono legal services to low-income clients through certain programs. This marks the second consecutive year that Cooley has earned the distinction. Partner Scott Weston and patent agent Felipe Guzman also were individually recognized for the second time.

USPTO’s Patent Pro Bono Program featured more than 90 patent practitioners reporting 50+ hours each of patent pro bono service to a regional patent pro bono program in 2022. In addition, 25 corporations and law firms – a record number, with past participation peaking at 23 firms – contributed significant hours to one or more participating regional programs, assisting with more than 250 pro bono patent applications filed with USPTO in 2022.
