Cooley Celebrated at The American Lawyer Industry Awards

November 11, 2022

New York – November 11, 2022 – Cooley was recognized as Corporate Practice of the Year – Tech/Telecom and for Best Provider Collaboration at The American Lawyer Industry Awards 2022. Cooley lawyers Ben Beerle and Alan Levine, respectively, accepted the awards.

Cooley’s technology team was recognized for working on some of 2021’s most transformative deals, such as Snowflake’s record-setting $3.9 billion initial public offering and Twilio’s $3.2 billion buy-side acquisition of Segment. For 40+ years, Cooley has focused on representing innovators and investors in tech – startups and giants alike – across all stages of the corporate life cycle.

Alongside Kaplan Hecker & Fink and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, Cooley received the Best Provider Collaboration award. The three firms secured the victory for their work on the landmark federal lawsuit Sines v. Kessler, in which they represented nine plaintiffs who were victims of a coordinated attack by white supremacists during the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The American Lawyer Industry Awards honor outstanding achievement in the legal profession and focus on the national level, largely around Big Law and in-house departments. Across all categories, the awards aim to celebrate the ways in which the profession is innovating and better meeting client needs.
