Introducing Cooley’s Life Sciences & Healthcare Innovation Hub – A New Resource for Life Sciences and Healthcare Companies

Firm also plans to reprise successful Life Sciences and Healthcare Innovation Program in January 2022

Palo Alto – December 9, 2021 – Cooley has launched the Life Sciences & Healthcare Innovation Hub, a cross-practice, comprehensive resource that provides key stakeholders across the global life sciences and healthcare industry – including CEOs, GCs, investors, board members and investment banks – with the valuable legal and business guidance they need to successfully navigate through a company’s entire life cycle.

With close collaboration across the firm’s business and litigation departments, the hub serves as a one-stop shop for life sciences and healthcare professionals to easily access guidance, trending topics and events across a broad range of matters, including finance; corporate and business development transactions; corporate governance and investor insights; creating and enforcing IP assets; litigation strategies; managing healthcare data; regulatory and compliance tools; and securities class actions.

“Our new Life Sciences & Healthcare Innovation Hub exhibits our enduring commitment to the industry,” said Kay Chandler, chair of Cooley’s global life sciences industry practice. “We’re proud to offer this platform to current and prospective clients alike and excited as we continue expanding our elite brand within the industry by sharing our unparalleled experience in this space.”

The launch of the hub coincides with the announcement of Cooley’s Life Sciences and Healthcare Innovation Program 2022, which will take place in January. In its second year, the monthlong virtual series serves as a complementary program surrounding the 40th Annual J.P. Morgan Health Care Conference, and features thought leadership across business and litigation topics, bringing together industry experts to discuss cutting-edge technologies, deal types, lessons learned and what to expect as we enter the new year. Registration for the program begins the week of December 13.

Cooley is the top law firm for emerging and mature life sciences and healthcare companies, investors and all those supporting the industry, and provides counsel to 1,900+ public and private life sciences and healthcare company clients worldwide, including nearly 50% of the Nasdaq Biotechnology Index. Named 2021 Life Sciences Corporate Firm of the Year by LMG and The Deal’s 2021 Healthcare, Pharma & Biotech Law Firm of the Year, the firm counsels on all aspects of life sciences technologies for established public companies and growing startups. Cooley has been the #1 VC law firm for biotech and pharma venture financings for the last decade and is the #1 firm for issuer-side life sciences IPOs – a title held since 2000. Chandler and global life sciences industry practice vice chair Christian Plaza recently spoke with The Recorder about Cooley’s long-established leadership in the sector.
