Working Mother Names Cooley an Eight-Time Best Law Firm for Women

July 16, 2019

Palo Alto – July 16, 2019 – For the eighth consecutive year, Working Mother Magazine has named Cooley one of its 60 Best Law Firms for Women. The annual list recognizes law firms using best practices to retain and promote women lawyers.

“Women are an important and valued part of the partnership at Cooley and active across all levels of leadership,” said Kay Chandler, partner and co-chair of Cooley’s Women’s Initiative alongside partner Shira Nadich Levin. ”Women currently make up 23% percent of the firm’s partnership, and Cooley’s management committee is comprised of 40% women. We’re honored to continue moving the needle and heartened by this distinction.”

“We revel in these accomplishments but realize there’s more work to be done,” said Levin. “We’re grateful Cooley fosters a culture that champions change and advancing the extraordinarily talented women within our firm.”

Cooley is often recognized for its unique and empowering culture. The Women in Law Empowerment Forum recently certified Cooley as a Gold Standard law firm for the eighth time. Cooley was also named a six-time Fortune Best Company to Work For, and has been recognized by the magazine as a best workplace for giving back, women, diversity, millennials, flexibility and parents.
