Fortune Recognizes Cooley as #1 Law Firm for Parents

Palo Alto – November 30, 2018 – Fortune named Cooley to its list of 50 Best Workplaces for Parents for the third consecutive year. Cooley is again the #1 law firm on the list.

The Fortune 50 Best Workplaces for Parents list is based on feedback from more than five million US employees at Great Place to Work-certified companies. Mothers, fathers and non-parent colleagues answered more than 60 survey questions about their day-to-day workplace experience. The rankings are driven by parents’ overall feedback, based on analysis of how parent-experiences compared to that of their colleagues, and assessing the quality of parental leave, adoption, flexible schedule, childcare and dependent health care benefits. 

Cooley offers generous parental leave benefits, including an increased number of weeks of paid leave for all new parents and providing an option for attorneys returning from leave to phase back in by working a reduced schedule without prior approval for a period of up to six months. Additionally, Cooley’s Women’s Initiative runs a liaison program for both men and women attorneys taking an extended leave of absence, providing a person of support leading up to and during the leave who will also help to re-acclimate the lawyer following his or her return to work. All new and expecting parents also receive free pre and post-natal support through Cleo, offering in-home sleep consultation, lactation support, return-to-work coaching and guidance on any issue new parents may face.
