Cooley – A Fortune Best Workplace for Diversity

December 5, 2017

Washington, DC – December 5, 2017 – Fortune has recognized Cooley for its commitment to diversity and inclusion, ranking Cooley the #1 law firm on its 50 Best Workplaces for Diversity list. Cooley is #24 overall in the US.

“Strengthening our diverse and inclusive culture remains imperative to our continued success as a firm,” said Amie Santos, Cooley’s director of diversity and inclusion. ”We work hard to implement effective strategies and initiatives to foster an environment that truly values and celebrates differences.”

The Fortune 50 Best Workplaces for Diversity list is based on feedback from 448,456 employees on questions of workplace fairness, morale and inclusion. The result is a list of companies with the most positive reviews from female, minority and LGBTQ staff.

Cooley has been widely recognized for its diversity efforts by leading industry organizations and publications, including being named to Fortune’s lists of best workplaces for women, flexibility and parents, as well as Working Mother/Flex-Time Lawyers’ list of the best law firms for women. Cooley has also earned Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum for five consecutive years, as well as a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index.

Cooley recently opened applications for its 2018 Diversity Fellowship Program for first-year law students who demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.
