Fortune Names Cooley to 2015 List of "100 Best Companies to Work For"

March 5, 2015

Palo Alto – March 5, 2015 – For the second consecutive year, Cooley has been named to Fortune magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list. Cooley, which rose to #42, is one of only five law firms named to the prestigious list. The Fortune list is the result of the most extensive employee survey in corporate America.

"We are extremely proud of our culture, and we work tirelessly to maintain it," said Joe Conroy, Cooley's chief executive officer. "It is incredibly humbling to have the strength of Cooley's culture validated by our people in the context of the Fortune survey. We are thrilled to be recognized alongside many of our clients that also share a commitment to fostering inclusive and rewarding workplaces where their employees can thrive and grow both professionally and personally."

Fortune partners with the Great Place to Work Institute to select the "100 Best Companies to Work For" list. Two-thirds of a company's score is based on the results of the Institute's Trust Index survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to attitudes about job satisfaction, camaraderie and management credibility. The remaining third of the scoring is based on the company's responses to the Institute's Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, internal communications, training, recognition programs and diversity efforts.

Cooley has also been consistently recognized as a great place to work by national and regional publications, including Crain's New York Business, Washington Business Journal, and Working Mother magazine.
