Cooley Shortlisted for FT Innovative Lawyers Europe 2015

August 24, 2015

London – August 24, 2015 – Cooley has been shortlisted for the 2015 edition of the Financial Times's FT Innovative Lawyers Awards Europe. The winners will be announced on October 1.

Cooley launched in London in January with 20 partners and more than 50 lawyers. At the time, Justin Stock, UK managing partner, said: "I am energized by the sheer talent, personality and determination of all who are involved in this exciting opportunity. We are ready to build a thriving and successful UK-based practice together. We intend to take the momentum of this launch and continue to attract top legal talent with the same drive and spirit."

In the months since launch, Cooley has carried forward the tremendous launch momentum in the UK. Four lateral partners have joined the London office with more on the way, bringing strength in corporate, life sciences and IP. Among several groundbreaking deals in sectors including tech and renewable energy, last month Cooley's London and Boston offices teamed up to advise on the largest ever private financing for a European biotech company.

Cooley's UK strengths include a diversity of sectors including corporate and private equity, tech, life sciences and VC, IP, high-stakes litigation, insurance and reinsurance, financial services and fintech, competition, insolvency, employment and privacy.

"The FT remains a global must-read for the corporate world, and this comes as well-deserved recognition for everyone in our young London office," Stock said. "We're constantly striving to deliver innovative solutions for our clients."
