Palo Alto – July 30, 2015 – Cooley was recognized, for the fourth consecutive year, as one of the "50 Best Law Firms for Women" by Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers. According to Working Mother: "Focusing on work schedule flexibility as well as advancement of women into equity partner ranks makes these firms the cream of the legal crop."
Cooley was highlighted for having women lawyers represent 25% of practice group chairs and a CEO who "is vocal about the need to advance women."
"Cooley is committed, from the highest levels, to maintaining a workplace that is supportive of all people," said Shira Nadich Levin, partner and chair of Cooley's women's initiative. "Our four-time recognition by Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers is a yearly reminder that our hard work to support and advance women in the legal profession is paying off, but also that there is so much more we can achieve."
Working Mother also noted Cooley's women's initiative, which is built on the foundation of core career development enabling women attorneys throughout the firm to establish and refine the skills needed to grow and flourish professionally. As a key part of the program, women partners serve as career development counselors to women associates for the purpose of providing mentorship and professional guidance.
Cooley is one of the firms participating in the OnRamp Fellowship, a one-year training program designed to facilitate the re-entry of experienced women attorneys into the practice of law. The overarching goal of the OnRamp Fellowship is to replenish the talent pipeline with experienced women lawyers who seek not only to re-enter the legal profession, but, ultimately, to advance into leadership roles. In addition, Cooley has been named to Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Places to Work For" list for the past two years and is a four-time recipient of the Women in Law Empowerment Forum's "Gold Standard Certification."
