Cooley + Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights to Help Virginia Voters on Election Day
Reston – October 27, 2015 – Cooley, along with the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, which leads Election Protection, the nation's largest nonpartisan voter protection coalition, has committed to making sure that all eligible voters in Virginia have an equal opportunity to vote in the November 3, 2015 state and municipal elections.
Cooley's Reston, Virginia office will serve as a field command center on Election Day. Approximately fourteen Cooley attorneys are involved in Election Protection and are dedicated to helping voters in the region cast their ballots.
The 1-866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683) toll-free hotline will be answered live on Election Day from 6:00am-9:00pm EST. Bilingual English/Spanish assistance will be available on 1-888-VE-Y-VOTA (1-888-839-8682) and multilingual language assistance in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Korean and Vietnamese will be available on 1-888-API-VOTE (1-888-273-8683). Election Protection volunteers will also be available to help at the polls at select precincts around the Northern Virginia area. Any voter who has questions or is experiencing problems casting their ballot will receive direct assistance.
