Working Mother Recognizes Cooley as a "Best Law Firm for Women"

August 5, 2014

Palo Alto – August 5, 2014 – Cooley LLP announced today that it has been recognized as one of the 2014 "50 Best Law Firms for Women" by Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers. This is the third consecutive year that Working Mother has recognized Cooley as a firm that is "leading the way in attracting, retaining and promoting women lawyers."

"This recognition, along with our recent gold standard certification (for the third consecutive year) from Women in Law Empowerment Forum ("WILEF"), which recognized the firm's achievements in the promotion and success of women attorneys, vividly demonstrates our commitment to supporting and elevating women attorneys at Cooley," said Shira Nadich Levin, partner and chair of Cooley's women's initiative.

Cooley's women's initiative is built on the foundation of core career development enabling women attorneys throughout the firm to establish and refine the skills needed to grow and flourish professionally. As part of the program, women partners serve as career development counselors to women associates for the purpose of providing mentorship and professional guidance.

Cooley is also one of the four pilot firms currently participating in the OnRamp Fellowship, a one-year training program designed to facilitate the re-entry of experienced women attorneys into the practice of law. The overarching goal of the OnRamp Fellowship is to replenish the talent pipeline with experienced women lawyers who seek not only to re-enter the legal profession, but, ultimately, to advance into leadership roles.
